Arctic Monkeys brings peace in tranquility base hotel and casino

Posted on May 14, 2018 by in Uncategorized

After five years,  English rock band, Arctic Monkeys released their newest album named Tranquility  base hotel and casino

This is the band’s sixth studio release with 10 new songs .  The band goes way back from the early 2000’s as they were part of the garage scene.  Although this is their newest album a lot of fans are backlashing this album as they dial it back to their last album ” AM’ in 2013

In “AM”, there was elements of psychedelic rock, r&b, gospel, and punk. The album has become one of Arctic Monkeys most successful albums to date, leading to receiving British Album of the year in 2014. Although being an English rock band, the band also had a breakthrough in America with “ Do I wanna know ” hitting the Billboard 100.

If ‘ AM’ was highly rated album , why is Tranquility base hotel and casino being criticized?

Well a lot of fans have noticed the different style that was used in the latest album.  According to the Rolling Stones, the band “tried a stylistic change-up that doesn’t quite work.” With that being said,  this new album is filled with pianos and drums  , taking a complete tour as they incorporated more R&B. Although this album is different, it doesn’t mean that it’s a bad album.  Sometimes, artists take a leap of faith to really see what  style really suits what they are trying to convey to their audience.

However, sometimes things don’t really turn out as planned. Here are some prom hacks that will leave you looking more flawless than Beyonce

Hack #1 Floss Eyeliner

  #2  Fanny Pack Purse

So lets just say your not in the mood to bring an actual purse to prom, all you need is a small fanny pack. When you have everything inside, you can wrap it around your leg and hide it under your dress.

Hack #3 Shoe Hairspray

If your shoes are keep falling off because there a size bigger, all you need is a bottle of hairspray. Spray it inside the shoe or on the back of your foot as it prevents the shoe from slipping off your feet.

Hack #4 DIY Photo Shoot

This last hack is pretty self explanatory as all your going to need is a smartphone and a trip down to your local park. So instead of paying 100+ $$ for pictures, you can choose where you want your pictures, who takes your pictures, and where they go.

Fun Tip:  Download the Google photos app and back up all your prom photos so whenever you want to see those pictures, all you need to do is log into your gmail and boom!  your pictures will be there.

For those who missed it, the 60th Annual Grammy Awards was yesterday, Jan 28. Hosted by the Carpool Karaoke Genius James Corden , the night was filled with joy, happiness and most of all , strength.

With the current scandals going on with the entertainment industry, there was talks and mentions.  On of the most memorable happened to be Kesha’s Performance of her song “Praying.”

It all started off with an introduction from Janelle Monae as she talks about speaking up about sexual abuse in the music industry. As the stage centers we have artists like Camilla Cabello and Cyndi Lauper hum and sing their hearts out . Wearing white to support #TIMESUP movement, it was a very powerful performance.

Another memorable performance was the cover of “Tears in Heaven “ by the Osbourne Brothers, Maren Morris, and  Eric Church as they honor the victims of the Las Vegas and Manchester shootings.

And last but not least, Camilla Cabello’s Grammy Speech

The Cuban-American singer -songwriter took the time before introducing U2’s performance to acknowledge the DREAMERS who are fighting to be in the United States.  “Today, in this room full of music’s dreamers, we remember that this country was built by dreamers, for dreamers, chasing the American dream,” Cabello said,  just after joining Kesha and dozens of other women on the Grammy stage to perform a powerful rendition of “Praying.” “I’m here on this stage tonight because, just like the DREAMers, my parents brought me to this country with nothing in their pockets but hope. They showed me what it means to work twice as hard and never give up. And honestly no part of my journey is any different from theirs.”

These past few years , January 15 is seen just as a day of from school. With today’s events, it’s important to look as this day as more of honor than a holiday. We honor a man who fought for Civil Rights and believed that all, regardless of skin color can join as one.

Known for his famous speech, I have a Dream he was able to preach for freedom and eventually received the Nobel Peace Prize of 1964. Four years later, he was assassinated.

Now you may be wondering how we celebrate and honor  MLK today in 2018.  Here are 2 ways we did.

Google honored MLK by having it’s google doodle depicting a young girl empowered and focused on MLK’s speech.

2. Spotify

Today Spotify created the playlist “We Shall Overcome. Not only does it have parts of his speeches but it also has other influential people like ….

  1. Oprah’s Time’s Up Speech

2.  Jay -Z

3.  Nina Simone

4. The Beatles

and countless more.

Today, let’s focus on the people who made an impact for the people of color, not sales and a day off from school.

Wonder is an upcoming American family comedy-drama film directed by Stephen Chbosky . Based on the New York

Times bestseller, WONDER tells the inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman. Born with facial differences that, up until now, have prevented him from going to a mainstream school, Auggie becomes the most unlikely of heroes when he enters the local fifth grade. As his family, his new classmates, and the larger community all struggle to find their compassion and acceptance, Auggie’s extraordinary journey will unite them all and prove you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

Wonder Author R.J. Palacio wote the book after an experience she had when seeing a young girl with Crainofacial Abnormalities. Craniofacial is a medical term that relates to the bones of the skull and face. Craniofacial abnormalities are birth defects of the face or head. Some, like cleft lip and palate, are among the most common of all birth defects. . Most of them affect how a person’s face or head looks. These   conditions may also affect other parts of the body.
