Seniors! College application deadlines are around the corner. With UC applications being due Dec. 4 and Cal state applications due Dec 15., it is important that we keep calm to ease the application process. Take this Thanksgiving break as an opportunity to complete your college applications.

Here are a few tips to complete your college applications:

Create a calendar to keep track of your progress and deadlines.

It is easy to procrastinate when it comes to completing college applications. However, now is not the time to procrastinate if you plan on applying to UC schools or Cal States. Make a schedule for yourself and try to work on your college applications every day for at least an hour or two.

Ask your teachers for letters of recommendation.

Email your teachers and ask them for a letter of recommendation. Remember to include the date you would like for them to submit the letter. Ask them politely and thank them for taking the time to do so. Remember, you can request a letter of recommendation on Naviance.

File your FAFSA/Dream Act if you have not done so.

It is important that you file your FAFSA even if you think that you do not need financial aid. You will need your social security and your parents’ taxes from 2019 to file FAFSA. Visit https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa to file your FAFSA.

If you do not have social security, don’t worry. There is aid available for you. For more information and the application visit https://dream.csac.ca.gov/

Ask Ms.Pinedo for help.

Ms.Pinedo will be having office hours this Thanksgiving break. She will be available Monday-Wednesday from 9-12 on zoom. Check your Schoology for the link.
