24’ Boys Soccer Senior Night

Sheik’s boy soccer team celebrates their Senior Night after their 2-1 win against Robert F. Kennedy High School.

This game was highly anticipated for the team as they sought revenge against Robert F. Kennedy High School. The Sheiks lost 4-2 at Robert F. Kennedy High School in their last matchup. But this time the Sheiks would be playing at home. 

Sheiks took the lead with a goal from Kevin Aguirre (#13). At half-time, the score was 1-0. 

RFK responded in the second half to tie the game 1-1. Despite this goal, boys soccer needed to pull through to win the game. In the game’s final minutes, Kevin Salguero (#20) came through and scored, winning the game 2-1.

Once the game was over, the players celebrated their senior night with their families. Posters and goodie bags were for the players from leadership. Coach Javier Perez ended senior night with some encouraging words for the seniors.

After their senior night, boys’ soccer ended their season with a great win against Edward R. Learning Center 2-1 with a last-minute goal from Kevin Hernandez (#12). The Sheiks now wait for their playoff seeding which will be available Saturday afternoon.
