Fall and Winter sports have been unpredictable with many wins and losses throughout the first semester. Below, is the summary of each sport

Girls soccer

The girl’s soccer team is having a good season so far. Of the eight games they have played, they have won 7. The one game they lost was to Mendez. It was 1-0. The girls have been winning a lot of games aside from that. Their 8-0 victory against Franklin was their best one.

“I believe our season is going well. Always going in with 100%,” said Valerie, captain of the girls soccer team. “ As long as we all communicate and put in the effort then we should do well.”

As of now, it appears like they will have a really successful season. There are great hopes for the future games.

Boys Soccer

The boy’s soccer season has been a roller coaster. They have played nine games, winning two and drawing two.

Their 3-1 victory over Bernstein was one of the major victories. Given that this is a rival school, the players were really happy about the win.

Despite not doing as well as they had hoped in their other matches, their captains are hopeful about their next upcoming games.

“Our season is not going too well but we know we can beat every team. What we can do to improve is to work hard, play hard, and try to score goals.” Said Danny, captain of the boy’s soccer team.

It is agreed that they must improve their performance. The boys will undoubtedly make a fantastic recovery for the next semester if they have the proper drive and preparation!

Boys Basketball:

This year’s boys’ basketball team has started off a little bumpy. Currently, the boys basketball team has 3 wins and 6 losses.

“So far our season is not going the way we expected. We need to play more as a team to improve throughout the season.”

Although this has happened the team is really trying to come together and make a comeback. We have high hopes for the basketball team to make a comeback as they continue on in their season next semester!

Girls basketball

Our girls basketball team really went all out this year and started off strong with their streak of 5 ongoing wins back-to-back! Although their streak did come to an end they still have had 6 successful wins and 2 losses.

“I think our season is going good, our team chemistry this year has been great and I hope the rest of the season goes well. I think we just need to practice hard and we’ll do good,” says Samantha Salvador captain of the basketball team. We hope to see our girls basketball team continue to give it their best and keep going on with their season as successful as they have been.

Cross Country

This semester’s cross country team is striving to grow within themselves and build as a team to beat their PR (personal record)!

Patron Meechukant says “I hope everyone tries their best and pushes for their next PR”

There has been some obstacles this season, but they always strive for excellence and victory.

“Love that the team came together and had a good time” Patron Meechukant

Cross country works on teamwork and coming together as a group to have a better bond within the team.

Girls Volleyball

This year the girl’s volleyball team had many obstacles along the way. Although their season wasn’t as successful as we hoped we did see the girls give it their all and come together as a team. Even though the girls knew they were losing they still didn’t back down and strived to get that win.

Natalie Mikaelian says “I think our season did not go that well but I’m still proud of us because this was an improvement season and everyone had fun and did their best and that is all that matters. As long as we keep working hard and get to know our team, we can improve next season!”

We hope to see the girl’s volleyball team have a better season next year the way we know they can.

Football

This football season has been a victory! Although there have been casualties, they were able to get back up and have the power to face off long-term football rival Bernstein. Freddy Martinez, linebacker of the team says

“I think we did good compared to how we played a few years ago. We beat our rival team and made it to the D2 playoffs so in my opinion we did good. However, I think we did have more backups for when a player got injured because that hurt us in the long run.”

Hopefully, the team will have more victories in the next semester and have fewer injuries.
