[UPDATE 9/1]: The football game was canceled, due to the hot weather. Spirit Rally will still be held during lunch

Sheik varsity football faces the Hamilton Yankees on Thursday at home at 4:30 p.m.in a non-league game. Hamilton is 2-0, while Hollywood is fighting for its first win.

A lunchtime spirit rally will build up anticipation for the game as well as other sports. Leadership will be selling concessions. Tickets are $5 with ID and $7 without.

“Hamilton is coming here thinking they’re going to get an easy win—but win or lose, they’re going to have to earn it,” said Brian Beltran, team captain and TCA senior.

Sheiks fell to Morningside Monarchs 38-13 on Aug. 13. Wide receiver Beltran (#19) scored the first touchdown in the second quarter. Running back Davinci Guthrie (#28) ran the other touchdown.

“Nothing is over until the whistle blows,” said Brandon Retana, SAS senior.

The game is on Thursday because Friday is California Admission Day, a holiday.
