Thanksgiving can move aside because people will begin to line up at the nearest Starbucks to get a glimpse of the official seasonal cup. And this year, the cups come with a lot of new details and ideas.

Last year, Starbucks had released 13 different red, seasonal Starbucks cups that were designed by customers and chosen to be featured as cups. Starbucks had realized their customers enjoy drawing on the cups and making it their own unique cup. Which is one of the reasons that Starbucks has decided to make this year’s cup full of white space and only a bit of red to outline the cup. It allows the customer to color in the cup any way they want and be creative with what they decide to do with the cup.

Beside the new coloring cup idea, there are a couple of figures on the cup that also add another layer of interest because Starbucks wanted to also be involved with issues in society and the world. Which is why Starbucks added to their seasonal cup features a female couple about to kiss and an elderly woman holding hands with a man that is wearing a Muslim traditional type of hat.

An article written by CNBC got a response from a Starbucks spokesperson about the seasonal cups saying, “Each year during the holidays, we aim to bring our customers an experience that inspires the spirit of the season and we will continue to embrace and welcome customers from all backgrounds and religions in our stores around the world.”

In a Starbucks commercial, there is also animations and visuals from the cup that show these social issues and it works to show the world that there needs to be issues discussed. Yet the video allows the message to be received “a little softer and potentially less polarizing.”

Seasonal drinks are already being sold to the public and creating the Christmas feel around the world. Visit your nearest Starbucks and get a taste of Christmas early this year with the new seasonal cup and drink flavors. ‘Tis the season and Starbucks drinks.
