In the next installment of the Scary Movie franchise, Scary Movie V primarily revolves around Paranormal Activity and Mama, but also mocks Inception, The Evil Dead, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and Black Swan. With various appearances by Mac Miller, Terry Crews, Snoop Dogg, Mike Tyson, and a few others, offering a great variety of jokes for any person to laugh at least once.
Scary Movie V begins with a segment of Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan recording themselves having “fun” and exploiting their problems for laughs. It follows the lives of Dan and Jody Sanders, played by Ashley Tisdale and Simon Rex, after they find Sheen’s three kids in a cabin in the woods. Shortly after the kids move in strange things start happening to the family because of an evil character by the name of “Mama”.
Scary Movie V throws out skits for a quick laugh that doesn’t add to the plot and are repeated numerous times. Many of them are fights between two uneven opponents, a five year old getting punched by an adult, or a celebrity coming in for a bit and cracking a few jokes.
Overall the movie seems like a montage of YouTube comedy videos along with short dialogue, moving the plot forward for another skit.
