Cheer will have their first competition tomorrow at Wilson High School at 10 am. Adults pay $12 while students with identification and children 6+ pay $8.
The team has been working hard for the last couple of months and have new stunts.
“I’m feeling pretty nervous since it’s the first competition, but I’m mostly excited and confident in our team,” said Sarah Garcia, SAS junior.
There are 11 teams from two leagues the Northern Central League and eight teams from the Expo Coliseum League competing.
Schools arrive at 9 am to check in and warm up and the event starts at 10 am.
Each team is given 2 mins and 25 seconds to perform a chant and routine with music.
There are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies for top placing teams.
The last team finishes performing around 11:30 and the award ceremony will be around 12 or 12:30. p.m.
