Although it’s almost the end of the year, it is not too late to apply for scholarships. The Philanthropic Educational Organization Chapter GA Scholarship is an opportunity for females who are looking forward to furthering their education.
This organization was originally created on January 21, 1869 by seven students who attended Iowa Wesleyan College. For more than 150 years, the P.E.O Sisterhood has been able to help women in the United States as well as Canada by supporting and motivating them to reach a higher level of education. The P.E.O Sisterhood sponsors a foundation and six philanthropies which are the P.E.O. Educational Loan Fund, P.E.O. International Peace Scholarships, P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education grants, P.E.O. Scholar Awards, P.E.O. Star Scholarships, a liberal arts college called Cottey College, and the P.E.O. Foundation.
This non profit organization has been able to help almost 200,000 women by providing more than $398 million in scholarships, grants, as well as loans.
Scholarship requirements:
- Must be a female
- Must be a citizen or legal resident of the United States
- Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Must be a full-time student
- Must be attending a community college or university in the fall.
- Must show community involvement, academic strengths, and leadership skills
