Prior to last week, many seniors faced the possibility of not graduating in white after not taking the SBAC the previous school year. However, this was remedied with the math and reading STAR tests used as a substitute for the SBAC. Any senior who wishes to make up this missing requirement is expected to finish the STAR test by the end of yesterday and meet or exceed the benchmark.

The other qualifications to graduate in white are a GPA of 3.5 or higher, no D’s, F’s, or U’s in the spring semester of senior year, and no more than 5 days of absences during the senior year.

“Yes [the deadline will be extended] and students must take it at least two weeks before the panaorama picture on  May 17,” said SAS Assistant Principal Salvador Hermosillo.

Additionally, a White Cap and Gown application will be given out later this week, but there has yet to be an update on the main Schoology page or 2022 senior group.
