A showing of the documentary, “Scary Stories,” will be played in sections in the library in celebration of Reading Across America during lunch on Thursday and Friday.

Librarian Sherri Whitham showed the first segment yesterday at lunch. The second and third sections were shown on Thursday and will be shown Friday.

The documentary is based on the popular book series, “Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark,” by Albert Schwartz. The book series was highly controversial for the frightening imagery and subject matter which led to its banning. Since it’s Read Across America, this documentary celebrates our freedom to read.
