The start of a new year brings cinema fans films to look forward to. From superheroes to dinosaurs, there are films for everyone to enjoy. Here are some of the top four most anticipated movies of 2022.

  • The Batman (Mar 4.) 

The Caped Crusader will once again have a reboot in the franchise. Although this film may not be connected to the main DC extended universe movies, fans can still be in for a show as this movie portrays a much more ominous story of Bruce Wayne. Batman will be played by Robert Pattinson who was previously seen in Tenet, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and the Twilight saga. 

  • Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (May 6.) 

The Sorcerer Supreme will hit the big screens once again after its first release in 2016. Benedict Cumberbatch returns as Doctor Strange and Elizabeth Olsen will be playing Wanda Maximoff, “The Scarlet Witch”. This film will tie in with the events that occurred in the Disney + show WandaVision and What If? To surprise fans, Sam Raimi will be directing the film after his previous success of the Spider-Man trilogy.

  • Thor: Love and Thunder (July 8.)

After the success of Thor: Ragnarok, fans have been anticipating what Taika Waititi will do next. What’s really surprising is the return of Jane Foster, who will be played by Natalie Portman. Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie is also expected to be in the film as well as the Guardians of the Galaxy. Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, will have to join forces with them in order to fight Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher.  Christian Bale’s previous big roles were in American Psycho and The Dark Knight Trilogy. 

  • Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse- Part one (Oct. 7) 

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse became a big hit and an Oscar-winning animated film. Audiences will be very delighted to see what this new film has to offer, especially after it was announced that there would be two parts. Shameik Moore will once again return to voice Miles Morales along with Hailee Steinfield’s Gwen Stacy and Jake Johnson’s Peter Parker and Oscar Isaac’s larger role as Spiderman 2099. It is also confirmed that Issa Rae will be joining the cast to voice Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman.
