Girls volleyball team’s streak came to an end on Oct. 26 when they lost to Canoga High 3-1. Their season record was 12-2.
“I think it’s wonderful. It’s great to see the girls rock, it’s great to see the girls win,” the athletic director, Wendy Carter, said. All the hard work has certainly paid off.
After a successful season, the girls volleyball were defeated 3-1 in the first round of playoffs. They defeated Bernstein, Huntington Park and beat Belmont, Mendez, Robert F. Kennedy, Contreas and Roybal.
“I’m really proud of our team, we worked and we’ve been able to really grow,” said senior Sara Bathuyag, a member of the varsity team.
“We have to play our game and get them physically and mentally fit in order to play that game,” said the coach of the girls volleyball team, Beverly Kilpatrick.
The junior varsity team also practiced hard for the playoffs. “I hope that we play well as we bump up people from JV to Varsity and have them improve. Have people learn how to adapt to the new environment and hopefully everyone will play well,” said Natalie Monchez, a member of the junior varsity.
