Thanksgiving is coming up next Thursday and not everybody will get to enjoy it with their families, there are many volunteering opportunities.

1) The annual Los Angeles Turkey Trot. The Turkey Trot is where you will get to burn off those extra calories by running a 5k or 10k. If you are not so into running, there will be a Turkey costume contest, winners will receive a pumpkin spice cheesecake. This event will beheld on Thanksgiving day in Downtown’s Spring Street.

2) Thanksgiving Run And Food Drive at Queen Mary. This is another 5k with live music and games, there is also a food drive so you can give back to the community. To register you must bring a non perishable food item to donate, and if you don’t want to run there are volunteer slots open. This event will be held at Memorial Park.

 

3) Big Sunday’s Thanksgiving Stuffing , held on Nov. 21. At this event you will get to bag food for thousand of hungry and grateful people, as well as enjoying arts and crafts with live music  Breakfast will be provided and our own Key Club will be there volunteering as well.

4) Westside Thanksgiving. This will be an event where volunteers will serve a traditional thanksgiving meal to homeless, elders, children, and low income families. You can help out by donating some food or volunteering. A kid friendly carnival will also be held starting at 8am and free haircuts and shots will be provided for those in need. This event will be held at the West LA Civic Center.
