Franz Ferdinand came to Jimmy Kimmel’s concert stage to perform 2 songs to be televised in order to support their latest release “Always Ascending”. They started off with one of their singles “Glimpse of Love” then led to “Paper Cages”. The band has been on a heavy scheduled tour and yesterday they played a sold out show at The Wiltern. The band continues to embark on their tour and are still playing their dance and rock heavy songs that started their career. As the singer Alex Kapranos jumps and sways across the stage he always knows how to be such a great front man. New band members Julian Victor Corrie and Dino Bardot both provide so much more of a deeper sound to their new album and performances that give the band a more of a bigger performances.
After their 2 songs the band played 2 more new songs and 1 classic from their platinum selling debut album. Before the show I managed to conduct a small interview with Paul Thompson one of the bands founding members. We discussed his time with recording of their latest album and how it was working with Philippe Zdar who is known for working and producing for artists such as Phoenix, Two Door Cinema Club, and Chromeo. We also talked about other shows and how touring has been for the band. Here is a small clip of the interview:
Great stuff and nice interview
