The Lady Sheiks soccer game have completed the season with Varsity’s overall record standing at 3-13-2, while Junior Varsity’s record standing at 5-5-2. The final game was against Belmont on Feb. 8 with Varsity losing 1-0 and Junior Varsity winning 1-0.

“We weren’t doing as good at first then we started doing better and working as a team,” said SAS Junior Varsity player Lizbeth Barrientos who plays right defense, #12.

Antonio Lira, coach for the varsity and junior varsity teams said the girls soccer team “knows that it is not all about winning the game but about how you get along with your teammates.”

“It was awesome because we all became a big family. We may be dysfunctional but we all care for each other,” said Yajaira Cortez, 11th grade SAS student who plays forward, #19 on the JV team.
